For the magazine ad we ad decided to keep it in similar style to the digipack, creating an image easily assiociated to the star persona. We had come up with two solutions of the magazine ad as seen above; both are fairly similar format wise the only difference is the choice of colour pallet.
First step towards creating the magazine advert was taking several images of our star persona. The chosen image was then imported onto Photoshop. Using 'filter gallery' 'cutout' effect, in order to animate the image and lowering the image vibrancy- to match the style of the digipack.
The image was then enhanced using a wacom tablet; sharpening the lines to achieve a smoother finish. Titles and information relating to the album and the artist were then added. The ad contains the basic information that you would expect to see on a magazine ad as is it shown below.
We
had shown the two ads to several people asking which one they prefer
and why? Overall, people preferred the first ad in black and white
stating that it has better contrast 'stands out' and that relates to the theme of the digipack- making it look more
professional.
