Filming 12/10/13

We filmed our music video for "In The Bag" yesterday at Ilarna's house. To create a party setting we used a variety of props. Balloons, glow sticks, party poppers, cups, iPod, speakers, food and drink are the props we used to create a party setting.

One problem that occurred yesterday was that I could not stay for the whole day for filming, so I arrived early and helped set up and Ilarna and I filmed a few extra shots that would be good to use as cutaways in between the narrative of the music video. We filmed lip syncing shots of Ilarna singing the verses (since she was the main music artist) and we filmed lip syncing of me singing the chorus. All of this filming was done in the daytime.

In the evening the narrative was filmed. The first shot that was filmed was our main actor walking through the door and arriving at the party. The next few scenes filmed were of people dancing and spraying silly string. To give a contrast in angles we filmed low angle shots of feet dancing. The dancing and silly string shots were all done with the camera being held.

The next part of the filming was the 3 different scenarios. The first scenario that was filmed was our main actor walking into the shot and sitting down next a girl and being slapped. This was filmed several times, some shots were medium, others were over the shoulder shots and a few were close ups. The second scenario was of the main actor walking into shot sitting down next to a different girl and the girl popping a balloon in his face. For this shot we only filmed a medium shot. For the last scenario the actor walks into shot and sits down next to a couple. He taps her on the shoulder and gets water thrown on him. This was filmed only as a medium shot as well. All the medium shots were stationary and the other types of shots were handheld.

After that a fight scene was filmed. This was all filmed so that handheld shots were produced. For this we filmed from many different angles, there were over the shoulder shots from over the main actors shoulder and over the opposite actors shoulder. The camera was also used as the point of view of the main actor and the camera was rolled back to create make it look like the actor got punched in the face.

A runway scene was filmed as well, this was of people taking turns dancing in the middle of the room.

More lip syncing shots were filmed that evening. Some were filmed whilst the camera was stationary and some were with camera being held. One shot was with Ilarna singing and people dancing in the background, another was with her sitting on the sofa and one was of her standing up by herself in a empty room.
